The Tree: A Short Prose About Evolving Love.

I had a dream of a tree. Little hands touching its thick, rough trunk. Little laughs filling the air and little feet running barefoot around the base. “I’m going to catch you.” Narrowly the little hand misses the cloth that covers the other’s sun kissed back. Large grey clouds move to cover the bright life-baring source of their joy. The wide eyes fill with confusion and the little feet stand still. Looking up to the heavens there is a great change brewing.  The massive, dark content moves viciously. Looking down, the feet, hands, and bodies have now grown.  Time seems to have swept by without either’s realizing it. Looking back from each other and then to themselves again, they move their hands over their bodies in disbelief. Thoughts? There aren’t any that can be comprehensively strung together to gather one cohesive assessment. Its more like hundreds of thousands smaller thoughts flying around but not sticking.
“How did we get to be this way?” says one to the other.
“I’m not sure, but it happened so fast.” the other replied.
No longer looking at each other with such young affection, but rather skepticism takes its place.
Now, clearly shown are the blemishes and hiccups that seemed invisible when everything was much smaller.

No Lady should die without having...

A fur. Sorry PETA, but furs are beautiful and feel amazing on the skin. It definitely is a status symbol.

A string of pearls. Classic and timeless.

A Birkin Bag. Any woman who knows, knows that this is the most sought after bag. Beautiful and well worth the $9,000 - $34,000 price tag (if you're able). It comes in an array of colors, textures, and sizes.  Every young lady should aspire to have one in her possession one day.

Diamond Studs. Simple and clean. These babies can pull together a look effortlessly.

A piece of Louis Vuitton luggage. Timeless.

The New Year.

The new year always seems to have people feeling obligated to make "resolutions" that they will never stick to; i.e. This year I will drink more water, not cuss, workout every day, go to church every Sunday, not procrastinate, etc. I never say what I intend to do differently out loud in order to avoid jinxing myself. I will say that this year will bring many, many changes that I am so very excited for.
